Lyle Foster has been withdrawn from Bafana Bafana squad to face Congo in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Brazzaville on Tuesday evening and has since returned to his club Burnley in England.
The 24-year-old Foster was injured during Bafana’s 5-0 drubbing of the Congolese at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha last Friday.
Foster, who was one of the scorers against Congo, picked up an injury to his left knee. Bafana Bafana team doctors have said that no surgery is needed on his injured knee.
