Mamelodi Sundowns embarrassed Kaizer Chiefs, beating them 4-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg, on Saturday evening.

Iqraam Rayners gave the Brazilians the lead from the penalty spot in the 14th minute after Lucas Ribeiro Costa was brought down by Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom inside the box.

Rayners, who joined the Tshwane giants from Stellenbosch FC before the beginning of the season, completed his brace when he netted in the 22nd minute.

Namibian international Peter Shalulile made it 3-0 with a beautiful finish five minutes before the half-time break.

Disaster struck when Amakhosi were reduced to 10 men by match referee Luxolo Badi in the 54th minute after Inacio Miguel was red carded following a foul on Shalulile.

The Brazilians showed that they were not done yet as their right back Khuliso Mudau chipped the ball over Amakhosi goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari to make it 4-0 in the 61st minute.

Meanwhile, Richards Bay FC also advanced to the semi-finals following a 5-4 win over Cape Town City in another match played at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban.

This match was decided on penalties after both the Natal Rich Boyz and the Citizens failed to score in 120 minutes.
