One of the greatest footballers to come out of South Africa Lucas Mecro “Masterpieces” Moripe passed away at his Atteridgeville, Pretoria, home.
And because of his skills, football followers gave Moripe the moniker “Modimo wa Bolo” when he turned out for Pretoria Callies, Orlando Pirates and Hong Kong’s Caroline Hill.
The Tshwane Municipality honoured him by renaming Super Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria to Lucas “Masterpieces” Moripe Stadium.
