A 10-man Kaizer Chiefs earned maximum points after they beat Richards Bay FC 2-1 in a Betway Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday evening.
Amakhosi went into the half-time break leading by an odd goal following Wandile Duba’s 21st minute strike.
Chiefs played almost the entire second half with 10 players after Reeve Frosler was shown the red card three minutes after the restart. With Amakhosi one man short, Ashley du Preez netted their second goal in the 68th minute.
And Yanela Mbuthuma halved the deficit when he scored for the Natal Rich Boyz in referee’s added time.
Meanwhile, Cape Town City defeated third-placed Polokwane City 1-0 through their captain Thamsanqa Mkhize’s goal at the Athlone Stadium.
