Stellenbosch FC will lead a nomadic life as they will play their CAF Confederation Cup matches away from their home ground Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands.
They cannot even play their home matches at the the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town because the venue doesn’t meet CAF’s accreditation requirements just like it’s the case with Danie Craven.
And because of that, Stellies are going to play home matches in three different provinces – KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape.
Stellies face RS Berkane from Morocco at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban this coming Sunday. They will then play against Lunda Sul from Angola at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Sunday, 5 January 2025. A week later, Stellies will make a short trip to the Cape Town Stadium for a clash against Mali side Stade Malien.
