Dr Luvuyo Bayeni and Romy Titus are the only two people from the dissolved Boxing South Africa (BSA) board, who have made it into the shortlist for members of the new board.

Bayeni and Titus were in the board, which was dissolved by Minister of Sport Gayton MacKenzie in August. Actually, Titus was in the board, which was successfully interdicted by the National Professional Boxing Promoters Association (NPBPA).

Promoter Hlulukwenza Dladla, who promotes under the banner of Hlula Dladla Boxing Promotions (HDBP) is also one of the people shortlisted for a position in the BSA board.

Other people who have been shortlisted  are Rina Subotzky Jude, Mthokozisi Radebe, Vince Blennies, Sydney James, Saudah Hamid Chetty, Tony Ferreira, Simon Carl Clarke, Ayanda Zamantungwa Khumalo, John Sifiso Mtsweni, Andre Smith (Andries Jacobus), Zakaria Gordon, Dr Viwe Nogaga and Siyakha Simelane.
