Eric Tinkler’s second spell as Cape Town City head coach came to an end after the Citizens sacked him on Tuesday afternoon.
The 54-year-old former Bafana Bafana and Wits University midfielder had rejoined the Citizens after he was fired by Maritzburg United in 2021. Tinkler left the Citizens at 12h place.
“The club expresses gratitude towards Eric for the last three seasons where he presided over 2nd, 4th and 5th place finishes. We wish Eric the very best for the future,” a Citizens statement said.
The statement added: “The club will announce a new interim coach as we build up to an exciting new project for the 25/26 season and beyond.”
