With five wins, three knockouts, under his belt, unbeaten Lindokuhle Khuzwayo reckons that he will soon be ready to challenge current South African featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi.
Trained by Sean Smith in Johannesburg, fourth rated Khuzwayo is fresh from a devastating second round technical knockout victory over Sonwabile Marenene at the Orient Theatre in East London last month.
“I would love to fight against Batyi. It’s what I have been waiting for even though I hadn’t trained since my last fight in December,” Khuzwayo said.
Maphumulo-born Khuzwayo, who will celebrate his 22nd birthday in August, has an impressive amateur record, registering 64 victories and losing only four times.
Meanwhile, Ink Sport can reveal that Kay B Promotions boss Mzi Booi has already reached out to Khuzwayo’s handlers, offering a fight contract for a challenge against Batyi, who has already defended his title four times.
However, Booi’s initial offer was turned down and he revised it, sending an improved one, which is yet to be accepted or rejected by Khuzwayo’s handlers. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
