Mamelodi Sundowns worked their socks off as they came from behind to defeat AS Maniema Union 2-1 in a CAF Champions League encounter at Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Congolese took the lead when Japhte Bola Kitambala beat Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams at near post following a pass from Exaucia Moanda Kia Moanda in the 38th minute.
And the Brazilians equalised through second half substitute Peter Shalulile when he headed in from Teboho Mokoena’s cross in the 83rd minute. Mooanda scored an own goal which gave the Tshwane giants the win following pressure from Shalulile.
