Just weeks after losing to Bo Mi Re Shin from the Korea Republic, national champion Ntombokuqala Tolashe is preparing for a rematch against Matshidiso Mokatsane.

The current South African female featherweight champion, who dethroned Mokatsane in Cape Town last August, clashes against her Kroonstad-born opponent in a rematch on Saturday, 22 March.

“I’m busy preparing for my fight against Matshidiso. I will be defending my title on the 22nd of March,” Tolashe told Ink Sport

Meanwhile, Tolashe lost on points when she fought in Seoul, Korea Republic, against Shin, who is the former World Boxing Council (WBC) International and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Asian Pacific junior-lightweight champion, in December.

The 28-year-old Tolashe stood her ground and was not disgraced despite arriving in the Asian country 48 hours before the fight. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
