Mamelodi Sundowns’ points collection campaign continued as they whipped SuperSport United 3-0 in a Betway Premiership clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilians took the lead 10 minutes into the match through Jayden Adams’ goal, which was his first since his recent move to Sundowns from Stellenbosch FC.
Tashreeq Matthews increased the defending champions’ lead a minute before the half-time break. And Matthews made it 3-0 three minutes into the second half.
As a result of the win, the log-leading Tshwane giants have now collected 39 points after they won 13 matches and lost only once.
Meanwhile, second-placed Orlando Pirates defeated Sekhukhune United 2-1 in another Betway Premiership match played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
The Buccaneers’ goals came from Deon Hotto and Makhehleni Makhaula with Linda Mntambo netting for Babina Noko.
