Former amateur star Amzolele ‘Globe’ Dyeyi will make his first appearance in front of East London boxing followers since he ditched his vest and entered the professional ranks last year.
The 23-year-old Dyeyi from Mdantsane is scheduled to clash against Simamkele Singile as they both will be engaged in their third professional bouts on Sunday, 27 April. Interestingly, both Dyeyi and Singile are unbeaten, having won two fights each.
Singile is a very brave young man, who’s best remembered for delivering a knockout blow to former Boxing South Africa (BSA) manager in the Eastern Cape Phakamile Jacobs whom he defeated at the High Court of South Africa Eastern Cape Division in Makhanda.
Duncan Village-based Singile took Jacobs and BSA to the High Court after he was denied an opportunity to sign a managerial contract with Gqeberha-based lawyer Sizwe Maci.
Singile sought relief from the High Court after Jacobs had played hide and seek when he wanted to sign with Maci as his manager.
Meanwhile, Dyeyi will go to the April fight following his win over Buyani Maduna in Durban in August and Singile defeated Sibusiso Mkolo at the Orient Theatre in East London last November.
