Bit by bit, information about next week’s boxing bosberaad is finally coming out even though the veil of secrecy has not been lifted completely.
The organisers of the bosberaad have secured the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) as the venue for the two-day event for boxing licensees to gather under one roof on Thursday, 20 and Friday, 21 February.
The bosberaad, which is funded by the Ministry of Sport, is expected to help knock the troubled South African boxing into shape.
“The bosberaad is going to be held at the International Convention Centre in East London,” an Ink Sport source confirmed.
Ink Sport also understands that invitations to key stakeholders in the sporting fraternity have already been sent out by Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie.
And we can reveal that McKenzie has also invited Premier Soccer League (PSL) general manager Ace Ncobo as one of the special guests at the bosberaad.
Ncobo, a former FIFA-accredited referee, was one of the panellists at a Year of the Boxing Glove symposium hosted by Boxing South Africa (BSA) in Parktown, Johannesburg, last year.
