Aspirant world champion Siyakholwa Kuse has been advised to join a compulsory investment scheme now that he has signed with Golden Gloves.
Kuse, who is the reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver mini-flyweight title holder, signed with Golden Gloves after he joined the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy in Edenvale earlier this week. Previously, Kuse was training at the All Winners Boxing Club in Mdantsane.
The former South African minimumweight champion will now be co-promoted by Rodney Berman’s Golden Gloves and Last Born Boxing Promotions.
“Kuse came to my office with Brian Mitchell and I told him that one of the major things he must understand is that he’s got to get an investment scheme. I could see that he was happy with that. When fighters are with Golden Gloves, when they finish with us they are financially sound. What they do with the money after that I can’t help,” Berman remarked.
Kuse, who is rated third in the WBC ratings, is earmarked to fight on the undercard of the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-middleweight title fight between defending champion Uisma Lisa from Angola and Shervantaigh Koopman on Saturday, 31 May.
