Mamelodi Sundowns avenged their first round loss to TS Galaxy as they beat the 10-man side 3-1 in a Betway Premiership match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria on Saturday evening.
The Brazilians were quick off the mark as they found the back of the net as early as the first minute with Peter Shaulile’s strike. Six minutes later, Iqraam Rayners added a second goal for the Tshwane giants before Sphiwe Mahlangu cut the deficit three minutes later.
The Rockets were reduced to 10 men after their striker Victor Letsoalo got his marching orders in the 26th minute.
And the Brazilians stretched their lead once again through Jayden Adams’ 38th minute goal. Rayners completed his brace three minutes into the second half.
