After numerous delays and meetings, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has finally acted and dumped troubled Royal AM out of the NedbankCup.
The PSL communicated the message on Tuesday morning, meaning that Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Milford FC will now face Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup last-16.
“The NSL executive committee convened on Monday to consider further representations from the curator and management of Royal AM Football Club. Having reviewed these representations, the executive committee, in concurrence with Royal AM and the curator, resolved that Royal AM Football Club will take no further part in the Nedbank Cup competition this season, in the interest of time,” a PSL statement said.
This match, which will determine the winner who will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals, takes place at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban, at 15h00 this coming Sunday.
Meanwhile, Milford’s MFC fixture against Pretoria Callies has since been postponed because of the latest developments.
