Ricardo Malajika’s hand speed was key in his second round stoppage victory over Jackson Chauke at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday evening.

As a result of his stoppage win, Malajika added the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) flyweight title to his junior-bantamweight crown from the same body.

Malajika took the fight to Chauke hitting him with body shots, which sent the ageing former champion to the canvas twice in the second round.

Meanwhile, Brandon Thysse became the new World Boxing Council (WBC) Africa junior-middleweight champion after he outpointed Namibian Charles Shinima in the main supporting bout.
