Siyakholwa Kuse will have his first fight under new trainer Vusi Mtolo when he squares up against Filipino boxer Samuel Salva in two months’ time.

Kuse, who moved from East London to Johannesburg last month, will be making the first defence of his World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver mini-flyweight title when he meets Salva at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park on Saturday, 31 May.

A former South African minimumweight champion, Kuse won the WBC Silver belt after he outpointed Zimbabwean boxer Beaven Sibanda at the Kempton Park venue in December last year.

Meanwhile, Salva is a former world title contender who lost to Pedro Taduran during an International Boxing Federation (IBF) minimumweight title contest in September 2019.

Rated number 10 in the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) ratings, the 28-year-old Salva has notched up 21 wins with 14 knockouts and two losses.
