Captain Neo Maema led Bafaba Bafana to a 3-1 victory over the Egyptian Pharaohs in a CHAN qualifier at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt, on Sunday evening.
Coach Molefi Ntseki’s team won 4-2 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw in the first leg played in Bloemfontein last Sunday.
Bafana took the lead through their captain Maema, who netted in the 15th minute. Bafana increased their lead when Yandisa Mfolozi scored 11 minutes later.
Six minutes later, Mohamed El Sayed Khalil Abouelenein halved the deficit after he scored for the Pharaohs.
After taking a 2-1 lead at half-time, Bafana midfielder Siphelele Luthuli made it 3-1 five minutes into the second half.
Meanwhile, Bafana are going to play against Malawi home and away in May as they search for a place at the CHAN finals in August.
