The birth of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba’s child has opened the way for Vuyo Letlapa to join the Bafana Bafana squad camping in Polokwane ahead of Friday’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
The 21-year-old Sekhukhune United left back has been slotted in to replace Modiba, who has since been released to be with his partner and child. Modiba is the second player to be replaced from coach Hugo Broos’ original squad.
An injured midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi withdrew from the Bafana camp and was replaced by Polokwane City midfielder Ndamulelo Maphangule on Monday.
Meanwhile, Bafana are going to play against Benin in another World Cup qualifier in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on Tuesday next week.
