Stretching his unblemished fight record and moving up the ratings are what Lindokuhle Khuzwayo will be looking forward to when he squares up against Sithembiso Maduna in less than two months’ time.

With five wins and three stoppages, Khuzwayo is going to trade blows against Maduna at the SunBet Arena in Time Square, Pretoria, on Thursday, 1 May.

“I feel fit and ready to fight any time. I have been working very hard in the gym even before this fight was confirmed,” Khuzwayo, who’s rated fourth in South Africa, remarked.

Khuzwayo added: “We are looking at going up the ratings. Maduna has been around and I’m not going to underestimate him. He has more fights and is more experienced compared to me. I’m gonna give my absolute best during the fight.”

Khuzwayo will go to the Maduna fight following his victory over Sonwabile Marenene at the Orient Theatre in East London in December last year. On the other hand, Maduna, whose record stands at 12 wins with two stoppages and five defeats, lost his last fight when he fought against Ardy Katompa from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in August.

Meanwhile, the clash between the two boxers is part of the Legacy Boxing Promotions tournament, which will see World Boxing Council (WBC) bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena making the first defence of his title against Serhiy Radchenko from Ukraine. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
