Boxing lovers in South Africa will be able to watch next weekend’s fight between Simangele ‘Smash’ Hadebe and her Mexican opponent Gabriela ‘La Bonita’ Sanchez Saveedra via live streaming.
This followed after Discover Sport, who sponsor Hadebe, bought the live stream link to make it possible to show the fight live in the whole of Africa.
Hadebe will square up against Sanchez in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver female flyweight title fight early on Saturday, 5 April (South African time).
Initially scheduled to face off last year, but the fight fell through following empty promises from a boxing promoter, the two lasses are finally going to clash against each other.
Hadebe, the current SA female flyweight titlist, also occupies the number one spot in the national bantamweight division.
The 2023 Female Boxer of the Year award winner, who’s also the reigning African Boxing Union (ABU) flyweight champion, will travel to Mexico together with her trainer Khangelani Jack and manager Colleen McAusland.
