Recently-crowned South African middleweight champion Phikelelani Khumalo has joined Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan’s NO DOUBT Management almost two weeks after he dethroned John ‘Section 29’ Bopape.
The SA champion, who was accompanied by his father Mlindelwa, signed a management contract with Nathan at the Hot Box Gym on Saturday morning.
The 27-year-old southpaw, a former Lamontville Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United Diski Challenge player, said about his move to Nathan: “My dad and I drove up to meet Colin. First of all, I see how other boxers are happy with Nomakanjani, great opportunities and a very good structure for boxers. Colin takes very good care of all his boxers in the same way.”
Nathan said about Khumalo: “It takes a strong mind to come back from the adversity he has faced. I’ve always thought he was talented and I’m happy he reached out to me. I’m looking forward to this new relationship and working with him.”
Meanwhile, Boxing 5 Promotions chief executive officer Larry Wainstein said: “Welcome to the family.”
