Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile’s bid to become the first boxer to inflict defeat on Kazakhastan’s unbeaten boxer Sultan Zaurbek failed on Saturday evening.

Zaurbek continued with his winning ways as he defeated Fuzile in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental junior-lightweight title fight at the Bary’s Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh was there for the taking, however, a cautious Fuzile failed to up the ante in very important moments during the fight something which didn’t work in his favour.

And in the end, the judges unanimously agreed that Zaurbek had done enough to take his impressive record to 20 wins and 13 knockouts. On the other hand, Fuzile from Duncan Village in East London dropped to 18 wins with 12 stoppages and three losses.

Meanwhile, Fuzile’s loss completed a bad weekend for South African boxing as another SA boxer Simangele ‘Smash’ Hadebe also lost during her fight against Gabriela ‘La Bonita’ Sanchez Saavedra in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver flyweight title contest in Mexico early on Saturday morning, SA time.
