Fight fans in the Eastern Cape will have an opportunity to be part of the first National Boxing Championship (NBC) tournament right on their doorsteps in June.
This comes after the NBC identified Friday, 27 June, as the day it will have its second leg being held in the Eastern Cape while the exact venue of the show is yet to be confirmed.
These latest developments regarding the tournament in the Eastern Cape were confirmed to Ink Sport by NBC chairperson Ace Ncobo.
However, before having a tournament in the Eastern Cape, the NBC will once again return to Arena Holdings in Parktown, Johannesburg, for its second show on Friday, 30 May.
NBC’s maiden tournament, which featured boxers from Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, North West and the Free State, held just over a week ago, went ahead without any hassles.
Meanwhile, the NBC board is made up of Ncobo, the promoter Anney Xala, Craig Mukhuba, Lerato Mogorosi, Dr Koketjo Tsebe and Sifiso Shongwe.
