It’s an all-African affair as Ntethelelo ‘Baby G’ Nkosi starts his journey in the WBC Grand Prix with a fight against Marwan Mohamad Madboly from Egypt in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 28-year-old Nkosi, who has won seven fights and lost twice, relinquished his South African junior-welterweight title as he preferred to take part in the money-spinning WBC Grand Prix.
With the WBC Grand Prix tournament starting on Thursday until Sunday, Mtubatuba-born Nkosi clashes with the unbeaten Madboly on Friday.
According to Nkosi’s trainer Damien Durandt, the fight against the 24-year-old Egyptian is going to take place at 14h00, South African time.
Madboly has only been a professional boxer for just over two years after he made his debut in the paid ranks in March 2023. He has won all his five fights with three of those wins coming from stoppages.
