An away goal rule helped Mamelodi Sundowns go through to the final of the CAF Champions League after they drew 1-1 with Al Ahly in a semi-final second leg clash at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt on Friday evening.

The Red Devils hoped they would reach their sixth final as they led 1-0 at half-time following Taher Mohamed’s goal in the 24th minute.

However, an own goal by Al Ahly defender Yasser Ibrahim helped the Brazilians equalise towards the end of the match.

Meanwhile, the Tshwane giants are going to face the winner of the Pyramids-Orlando Pirates match, which takes place at the 30 June Stadium.
