Following a brutal first round stoppage loss to Zambian boxer Simon Ngoma in March, Kaine ‘K9’ Fourie is set to make a ring return next month.
Fourie will be out to redeem himself when he comes up against Sifiso Hlongwane in an eight rounds lightweight bout at The Galleria Events in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 21 June.
The two boxers have had contrasting fortunes in their last bouts with Hlongwane stopping Mhlanganisi Sogcwayi in the fourth round while Fourie lost to Ngoma. Fourie is rated fifth in South Africa and Hlongwane is three places below him.
Meanwhile, after defeating Malawian Denis Mwale on points in March, Boyd Allen will now face off against Kagiso Bagwasi in an international junior-middleweight contest.
Bagwasi from Gaborone in Botswana stopped previously unbeaten Almighty Creed Moyo in the first round in his last fight in March.
On the other hand, Leo Careri, who is fresh from a first round technical knockout victory over Niclas Nzengu, is set to fight against Kongolo Tshimanga in a super-middleweight bout.
