After announcing his arrival at professional level with a second round stoppage win over Adivhaho Nemutanzhela just over two months ago, Sanele ‘V16’ Sogcwayi is returning to the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park to showcase his talent yet again.
And this time around, Sogcwayi is going to fight against Siphesihle Nkomo, who will be making his professional debut, in a four rounds featherweight bout on Saturday, 31 May.
“We are fighting against Siphesihle Nkomo from KwaZulu-Natal,” Sogcwayi’s manager Thembelani ‘Shakes’ Hlombe confirmed.
Even though Sogcwayi managed to start his professional career with a bang, there was no doubt that there was still quite a lot of work that needed to be done with him.
Sogcwayi, a silver medallist at the 2024 Nelson Mandela Boxing Cup in Durban, is a seven-time South African and nine-time Eastern Cape amateur champion. And he is the younger brother to Mhlanganisi Sogcwayi, who campaigns in the junior-lightweight division.
