Going by the moniker ‘Simply The Best’, Sechaba Zuma hopes to live up to his nickname and has made a very bold prediction ahead of next weekend’s fight against current South African junior-bantamweight champion Lwando Mgabi.
Zuma, who collides against Mgabi at the Estcourt Town Hall in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday next week, has predicted that the fight, which is scheduled for 12 rounds, will not go the distance.
“What I can promise is that he won’t reach round five. This title belongs here in KZN, no matter what,” a bold Zuma said.
Trained by Sizwe Mthembu in Durban, Zuma has only stopped one opponent in his four wins, two losses and a draw while Mgabi has won all his seven fights with two of those victories coming from knockouts.
Meanwhile, Duncan Village-born Mgabi, who relocated to Khayelitsha in Cape Town a few years ago, will be making the first defence of the title he won after he outpointed Sihle Jelwana from Komani in Cape Town in September last year.
