Just a few a days after he beat Simamkele Singile via a split decision, Mdantsane boxer Amzolele ‘Globe’ Dyeyi has left McAusland Boxing Gym to team up with Colin “Nomakanjani’ Nathan’s NO DOUBT Management and trainer Shannon Strydom.
Dyeyi, a winner of a silver medal at the Mandela Africa Boxing Cup in Durban last year, is unbeaten in three fights after he made his professional debut under McAusland Boxing Management.
The 23-year-old Dyeyi is a third East London boxer to join forces with Nathan in a space of a year. It all started with Phumelela Cafu, who’s the reigning World Boxing Organisation (WBO) junior-bantamweight champion, and was followed by Simnikiwe Bongco.
“He contacted me after beating Simamkele Singile in East London. I remember him when he came to spar at the Hot Box Gym last year when he was on the national team, and I was impressed. I spoke to Colin, who said he would be happy to manage him with me if he was not contractually bound to anyone,” Strydom said.
Meanwhile, Dyeyi will be promoted by Mzi Booi’s Kay B Promotions. Dyeyi fought his first fight under Kay B Promotions last Sunday.
