Two second half goals earned Banyana Banyana a 2-0 win over Zambia’s Copper Queens in a Three Nations Challenge match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria on Tuesday afternoon.
Bongeka Gamede opened the scoring with a beautiful free kick in the 74th minute and Jermaine Seoposenwe added the second goal eight minutes later.
This was good preparation for Banyana ahead of next month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco. Banyana will face Ghana, Mali and Tanzania in Group C of the tournament, which starts on Saturday, 5 July until Saturday, 26 July.
