Former world champion Vasiliy Lomachenko from Ukraine announced his retirement from boxing at the age of 37 on Thursday afternoon. 

The Ukrainian won two Olympic gold medals before turning professional in October 2013 and became a three-weight division world champion. 

He held the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) featherweight and junior-featherweight, World Boxing Council (WBC), World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), WBO and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion.

Lomachenko quit boxing having won 18 times with 13 stoppages and two defeats. His last fight was an IBF and IBO lightweight win over George Kambosos Junior in May 2024.
