South African Football Association (SAFA) president Danny Jordaan has said that Banyana Banyana’s pay dispute has been resolved.
The pay impasse came after SAFA’s failure to pay Banyana bonuses for their matches against Malawi and Zambia in April and this month.
Because of that, the players didn’t train on Thursday and Friday as they are preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco.
“That matter has been resolved. The CEO and the vice-pesident dealt with the matter,” Jordaan said on Saturday.
Linda Zwane, who’s the SAFA vice-president said: “We are aware of the situation in Morocco and we have dealt with the matter swiftly after it was made known to us. The association has made commitments towards that, making sure that the players continue with their preparation, as we want them to perform very well in the tournament.”
