Hovhannes Bachkov from Armenian proved too much for South African boxer Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni at Rixos Tersane Istanbul in Türkiye on Wednesday evening.

The 32-year-old Bachkov and 2020 Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist dominated Ndongeni before he stopped him in the ninth round. Ndongeni’s corner threw in the towel after he was floored by the International Boxing Association (IBA) junior-welterweight champion.

As a result of the win, Bachkov from Gyumri in Armenia, improved his record to eight wins with seven stoppages while the 35-year-old Ndongeni dropped to 33 victories with 19 stoppages and seven defeats.
