Highly-rated South African boxer Mxolisi ‘Nation’ Zuma from Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, is fearless as he will take his unbeaten record to Namibia for a clash against Fillipus ‘Energy’ Nghitumbwa in Windhoek next month.

Rated number one in South Africa, Zuma clashes with Nghitumbwa in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Global junior-featherweight title contest at the Windhoek Country Club Resort on Saturday, 9 August.

“I’m going to Namibia next month and I have a fight against Nghitumbwa, who is a very strong boxer. He’s highly rated and it makes sense for me to fight against him,” Zuma said.

“I took this fight knowing very well that he’s a good boxer. I’m confident that I will be able to stand against whatever he will throw at me. I think this is the time to show boxing lovers beyond the borders of South Africa what I can do.”

The 27-year-old Zuma has won all his 10 fights with stoppages and will come up against Nghitumbwa, who is a very dangerous opponent, having stopped 14 of his victims against two losses.

Nghitumbwa, 29, is rated 15th by the World Boxing Council (WBC) while he is ninth in the WBO ratings. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
