A member of the board of Boxing South Africa (BSA), Rina Subotsky, has been appointed as chairperson of the Women in Boxing committee, the fistic regulator announced on Thursday morning.
Subotsky is going to work with SABC Sport general manager Keletso Totlhanyo, erstwhile Proteas netball star Zanele Mdodana and Shereen Hunter, a former boxing promoter.
The committee has been mandated to lead, promote and support an increased participation of women in boxing as well as driving the development and implementation of relevant programmes and strategies under BSA.
Meanwhile, all female licensees are invited to an introductory engagement session with the new committee between 18h00 and 19h00 on Tuesday next week.
