Tanzania and Banyana Banyana played to a 1-1 draw in a Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament at the Honneur Stadium in Oujda, Morocco, on Friday evening.
The Twiga Stars led 1-0 at half-time after their captain Opa Clement Tukumbuke’s header had beaten Banyana goalkeeper Kaylin Swart in the 24th minute.
Banyana started the second half with more purpose and their efforts were rewarded when Bambanani Mbane equalised following a Lebohang Ramalepe cross in the 70th minute.
The Twiga Stars were reduced to 10 players in the 84th minute when Winfrida Hubert Gerald was red carded following a foul on Linda Motlhalo.
