As his next fight is approaching, Kevin Lerena and his team will fly out of South Africa for the United Kingdom (UK) on Saturday to continue preparing for his fight against Lawrence Okolie.

Lerena challenges Okolie, a World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver heavyweight champion, at the Wembley Arena in London on Saturday next week.

“We are leaving for the United Kingdom on Saturday,” confirmed Lerena, who’s the reigning WBC bridgerweight champion.

Initially, Lerena and Okolie were due to have met in a WBC bridgerweight title fight last year. The fight didn’t take place as Okolie decided to vacate the title and moved up to the heavyweight division.

The 33-year-old Lerena will face Okolie on the back of a successful first WBC bridgerweight title defence victory over Ukrainian Serhiy Radchenko in Pretoria just over two months ago.

On the other hand, the 32-year-old Okolie from Hackney, London, will be fighting for the first time since he defeated German boxer Hussein Muhamed at the Wembley Arena last December.

Meanwhile, Lerena and Okolie are scheduled to fight on the undercard of Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk’s fight against Daniel Dubois from England.

The duo will be fighting for the World Boxing Council (WBC), International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) heavyweight titles.
