Things are getting worse for Eastern Cape side Chippa United as they lost their fourth straight match after a 3-0 drubbing by Orlando Pirates in a Betway Premiership encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha in Gqeberha on Sunday afternoon.
The Chilli Boys’ problems started as early as the 10th minute when the Buccaneers took the lead through Patrick Maswanganyi’s goal from an Evidence Makgopa pass.
Chilli Boys goalkeeper and captain Stanley Nwabali’s tame pass was intercepted by Kamogelo Sebelebele, who passed to Makgopa for him to set up Maswanganyi.
Three minutes before the half-time break, Deon Hotto doubled the Buccaners’ lead from an Oswin Appollis assist.
Tshepang Moremi, formerly with AmaZulu, scored the Buccaneers’ third goal after a pass from Appollis in the 66th minute.
Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants and Polokwane City played to a 1-1 draw at the Dr Molemela Stadium in Mangaung.
Gallants took the lead through Bheki Mabuza’s goal while Bonginkosi Dlamini equalised for Rise and Shine.
