A virtual meeting between Boxing South Africa (BSA) and licenced promoters is going to be held at 18h00 on Monday.
The meeting has been called to deal with a number of issues, key among them being the sanctioning model, which promoters have been fighting against.
Following the national boxing convention, which was held in East London in February this year, there had been proposals for the amendment of BSA’s rules and regulations.
The current sanctioning model stipulates that promoters must pay a a certain percentage from their sponsorship money to BSA’s account. This has been a point of contention between BSA and promoters as some of them owe the boxing regulator as much as R3 million.
Meanwhile, boxers will get an opportunity to voice their concerns during a meeting called by BSA at 18h00 on Tuesday.
