A little bit wet behind the ear boxer from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape is chasing a South African title away from home as he fights against Wassim Chellan on Friday evening.

Phaphama Rhonorhono, who has stopped all his four opponents, clashes with Chellan in a vacant SA welterweight title contest at the Wynberg Military base in Cape Town.

Accompanied by his trainer Madoda ‘One More Time’ Dyonase when he travelled to the Mother City, Rhonorhono will be hoping to make a triumphant return to Mthatha after meeting Chellan.

On the other hand, Chellan had a wonderful start to his career until his eight-fight unbeaten run was halted by Adel El Garmaoui when they fought for the vacant IBF International and World Boxing Federation (WBF) titles in Germany in June last year.

The 29-year-old Chellan, who goes by the moniker ‘Kleurling’, is rated number one in South Africa. He has registered nine wins with four knockouts and one loss.
