Mamelodi Sundowns overcame Durban City 3-1 in a Betway Premiership encounter at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville west of Pretoria on Saturday evening.
The visitors took a surprise lead when Joslin Kamatuka beat Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams after he was set up by Haashim Domingo in the 12th minute.
It took the Tshwane giants just nine minutes before they levelled matters with Marcelo Allende netting off Tashreeq Matthews’ assist.
The Brazilians led for the first time after Matthews scored following a pass from Iqraam Rayners in the 35th minute. And Rayners made it 3-1 after Kutlwano Letlhaku’s assist.
Meanwhile, Orbit College and Marumo Gallants played to a 1-1 draw at the Olympia Park Stadium in Rustenburg.
Thuso Moleleki scored for Orbit from Monnapule Saleng’s assist and Sekela Sithole equalised for Gallants after he was set up by Sibusiso Ncube.
Elsewhere, Richards Bay FC beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 courtesy of Siyabonga Nzama’s goal at the Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands in an earlier match.
