After leaving Xaba Boxing Academy last year, former South African junior-bantamweight champion Miniyakhe ‘Showtime’ Sityata is back in the fold and is training boxers.

Sityata, the younger brother of the late former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-bantamweight titlist Lwandile Sityata, will continue working with Mnyamezeli ‘Fire’ Shosha, who’s the chief trainer at Xaba.

Mdantsane-born Sityata has been in and out of Xaba Boxing Academy. He left in 2021 and returned a year later before bolting out again last year.

“I returned to training on Monday last week. I will still be working with Ta Fire,” Sityata confirmed on Thursday.

Sityata is expected to be in the corner when SA junior-featherweight champion Siyabulela Hem defends his title against Vusi Ngcamu and Moyisi Booi clashes with Ntethelelo Magcaba in a vacant SA junior-bantamweight title contest at the Orient Theatre in East London this coming Sunday. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
