Against all odds, the South African Under-20 national team are through to the last-16 of the Under-20 FIFA World Cup finals after they beat the United States of America (USA) 2-1 in a Group E match at the Estadio El Teniente, Rancagua, in Chile on Sunday evening.

It looked like Amajita were going to bow out of the tournament when the Americans scored first through Noah Cobb following an assist from Matthew Corcoran in the 11th minute.

However, an Amajita equaliser from Joshua Wynder’s own-goal gave the South Africans hope. And Gomolemo Kekana gave Amajita the lead from Shakeel April’s assist on the stroke of half-time.
