Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke will fulfil his dream of fighting for a world title when he clashes with Mexican Jose Salas Reyes.

Sada-born Ngxeke’s fight for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title was confirmed on Wednesday morning.

“I have been waiting so long to hear this, and I’m so excited that I’m fighting for the world title,” Ngxeke said.

NO DOUBT Management boss Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan boldly said: “It’s not what you know in boxing, sometimes it’s who you know.”

Nathan received the letter and order from the IBF late on Tuesday and immediately informed them that Ngxeke accepted and was ready to fight for the world title.

With Junto Nakatani vacating his world titles on the 18th of September, many thought that Ngxeke might be in the mix for an IBF eliminator after the IBF initially ordered Salas Reyes vs.Takuma Inoue for the vacant title.

Ngxeke’s deal was set in motion when Nathan was on holiday in Japan last month where he attended a boxing event in Nagoya featuring Naoya ‘The Monster’ Inoue was defending his titles against Murodjon Akhmadaliev.

“I figured that it would work out like this. Remember, Landie contacted me before I left to go to Japan. I am not so sure that I really went on a ‘holiday,” Nathan said.

“I did have meetings with several of my partners in Tokyo and it was discussed that Inoue would decline the order against Salas. I can leave the rest up to your imagination. Now I will work exceptionally hard to get the best deal and terms possible for Landie. I think I’m overconfident to make this move and join a new team (leaving East London), which is the best management in Africa—NO DOUBT Management.”

Meanwhile, the date and venue are yet to be determined, as both camps of Ngxeke and Salas should start the negotiation process in the next few days.
