Eight months after she last laced her gloves, award-winning boxer Bukiwe ‘Anaconda’ Nonina will make a ring return when she squares up against Serbian opponent Natalia Shadrina next week.
The former South African and World Boxing Federation (WBF) female bantamweight champion clashes with Shadrina in an eight rounds bout in Moscow, Russia, on Saturday, 15 November.
Nonina, the 2016 and 2017 Female Boxer of the Year award winner, has confirmed thst she’s going to fly out of South Africa for Russia together with trainer Immanuel Mutavhatsindi on Wednesday next week.
The Klerksdorp-born Nonina lost on points to Bernice Ferreira in her last fight, which was held at The Galleria in Sandton, Johannesburg, in March this year.
Meanwhile, Russian-born Shadrina, who is 35 years old, is a veteran of 44 victories, two knockouts and a whopping 20 defeats.
The last time Shadrina fought, she lost to Viktoriya Grafeyeva during the IBA Women’s Championships in Serbia eight months ago.
