The South African Under-17 national team, Amajimbos, drew 1-1 with FIFA World Cup hosts Qatar in their second match played in Doha on Thursday evening.
The Qataris took an early lead when Mohamed Yazan netted following an assist from Zaid Ktit in the third minute. It took Amajimbos only 13 minutes to level matters through Emile Witbooi from a Kamohelo Mareletse assist.
Amajimbos are second on the Group A standings with four points from two matches. They are behind Italy, who have six points after winning their two matches.
