Nozipho Bell’s reign as a South African female junior-lightweight champion came to an end after she was dethroned by Bernice Ferreira at the Silver Lakes Farm Hotel in Pretoria on Saturday.
Going by the moniker ‘The Badger’, Ferreira defeated Bell on points following a 10 rounds bout. Ferreira predicted it on Friday that she was going to take the title away from Bell.
Meanwhile, Katlego Khanyisa successfully defended his International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa junior-lightweight title after he outpointed Jonathan Lotango.
On the other hand, former SA junior-featherweight champion Ayabonga Sonjica won his fourth fight of the year after he beat Rofhiwa Nemushungwa on points.
