A review of Bongani Fule’s fight against Jeff Magagane, which took place at the Guild Theatre in East London earlier this month, has declared the bout as a draw.
The review of the fight, which was ordered by Boxing South Africa (BSA) and conducted by neutral judges had Fule and Magagane each winning on the judges’ scorecards with the third judge having the duel as a draw.
Initially, two judges had Fule winning the fight by 97-94 and 97-95 while the third judge said that Magagane had won by 96-95.
Soon after the fight, Magagane’s handlers voiced their displeasure at the outcome of the bout, which said that Fule had done enough to maintain his unbeaten record. Thereafter, Magagane’s handlers applied for the review of the fight.
